The moment I realized I'd been loading the dishwasher wrong for 15 years was last Tuesday when my sister-in-law just stared at me.

She pointed out I was pre-rinsing everything before it went in, which apparently keeps the detergent from working right. Has anyone else had a basic life habit totally flipped on them by someone just watching you do it?

Man my friend Tom felt like a total idiot when @jason_fisher4's girlfriend caught him slicing avocados with a butter knife.

Oh man this hits close to home. My buddy Dave had his mind blown last year when his girlfriend saw him peeling carrots with a regular vegetable peeler and she was like "you know they make those serrated ones specifically for carrots right?" He had been using the wrong tool for literally decades and getting frustrated the whole time. Ended up buying one the next day and sent me a picture of perfectly peeled carrots like he discovered fire or something. It's wild how we just accept our little weird methods as the only way to do things until someone calls us out.
