Heard a mom at the grocery store complaining about kids and phones

Overheard some lady in the checkout line yesterday saying her 8 year old can't even write in cursive and that's the end of the world. Made me think about how I learned to write checks and read maps, and now my niece just uses her phone for everything. Not saying it's bad, just a different world. Anyone else notice something small that just hit different recently?

Disagree, cursive is useless now and maps taught me patience my niece learns faster with apps.

This whole debate feels like the same pattern where people think their way of learning things is the only right way. There's always new tools showing up and old skills fading out, that's just how it goes.
