I used to ask super vague questions here and someone finally called me out on it.

A member replied to one of my posts last week and said, 'You asked 'what's the best way to learn guitar?' That's impossible to answer. Are you 15 or 50? Do you have 30 minutes a day or 3 hours?' It was a real lightbulb moment. I've started adding my specific situation to every question now, like my budget or how much time I have. My replies are way more helpful. Anyone else get better answers after making their questions more detailed?

That's a solid realization to have. What kind of stuff are you asking about now? Like, are you getting into specific gear or techniques? The details really do change everything.

Honestly @kevin_sullivan, just trying to figure out which mic to get first. That choice feels huge.

Oh man, "that choice feels huge" is EXACTLY how I felt when I was starting out. I spent WEEKS overthinking it and honestly just went with a Shure SM58 because EVERYONE said it was safe. It worked fine for vocals but I wish I had just picked ONE and started recording instead of stressing. For me, a simple dynamic mic was the right call because it picked up less room noise and let me learn without worrying about background hums. Just grab something decent and start using it, you'll figure out your real needs after a few sessions.
