I was at the library in Springfield and saw they still have the old card catalog drawers.
I went there last Tuesday to grab a book on local history. While I was looking, I noticed the main desk had a computer, but right next to it was the whole wooden cabinet with the little drawers. The librarian said they keep it because people still ask for it sometimes, and it helps kids learn how things used to work. Has anyone else's local library held onto something like that?

My buddy took his kid to the library in Oakdale and they still have the microfilm readers. The kid spent twenty minutes trying to figure out how to load the old newspaper reel, totally fascinated by it.

That microfilm thing is wild. It reminds me of my niece trying to use my old Walkman. She couldn't figure out why the tape wouldn't play after she flipped it, because she kept pressing the wrong button. The look on her face when the music finally started was priceless. Kids have no frame of reference for any of that stuff now.
