My nephew asked me why I still use a flip phone and it got me thinking
My 16-year-old nephew asked me why I don't just get a smartphone like everyone else. He said 'Uncle, you're missing out on everything' and pointed out how I can't even look up a restaurant menu without walking inside. I mean he's not wrong, but last week I dropped my flip phone off a 12-foot ladder onto concrete and it still works fine. Has anyone else had a younger relative make them feel like a dinosaur over something simple like that?

Read somewhere that the average smartphone screen cracks within the first year of ownership... meanwhile flip phones just keep going. Your nephew makes a good point about convenience but there's something to be said for not worrying about your phone breaking every time you sneeze. Maybe ask him how many screen repairs he's paid for this year.

Went back to a basic phone for six months, stopped worrying about drops completely.
