Rant: Picked a 3-day-a-week office gig over full remote, kind of regretting it

Took a job in Austin last month that pays 15% more but has me commuting 45 minutes each way on those days. The remote option was 60 miles from my place, so I thought the office would be better. Anyone else traded remote for a commute and wished they hadn't?

Dude same thing happened to me. Took a hybrid gig last year thinking the extra cash and face time would be worth it. Nope. I spend the whole drive home pissed off about dumb stuff that coulda been an email. On my office days I miss lunch with my wife and have to meal prep everything Sunday night. The money is nice but I burn it on gas and worse coffee. Honestly I'm already looking again and the remote option is top of my list now.
