Spent $300 on a 'premium' data scraper for a project and it barely worked
The tool promised to pull clean data from any site, but it choked on basic javascript and gave me a mess of broken files. Has anyone found a scraper that actually does what it says without needing a coding degree to fix it?

Total scam, those promises are always lies.
Yeah that's the classic move. They sell you magic but it's just some broken python script wrapped in a fancy website. Real scraping needs constant updates because sites change all the time. You're better off learning some basic requests and beautifulsoup, or hiring someone for a one time job. Those "one click" tools never work on anything modern.

The legal risk gets ignored too often. I got a cease and desist letter from a major retailer last year for a personal project. Their terms of service are no joke, and automated tools often violate them without you knowing.
