Vent: I think group project rules are backwards

Everyone says you should split tasks evenly in group projects, but I tried doing the whole thing myself on a 5 person history report last semester and got an A. The professor even said my section on Civil War logistics was the best part, and I didn't have to wait on anyone else. Has anyone else found it easier to just take over and delegate tiny parts?

Tried that once, got stuck doing everyone's work anyway.

Oh HELL yeah, I've been there. My trick is to claim the hardest part early and give everyone tiny, brain-dead tasks like proofreading or making the font match so they can't mess anything up. If you delegate the fluff and keep the real work, you get the grade without the headache of waiting on slow replies.
