Appreciation post: My son's class loved the eclipse photo I sent

I shared a picture I took of the solar eclipse with my boy's school. His teacher used it for a lesson, and the whole class got excited about astronomy. It felt good to spark that interest.

Guess that eclipse made me rethink science class, huh?

Watching the total eclipse in Missouri last year actually shifted my view on science. In my experience, seeing the day go dark made those old lessons feel real for the first time. You're onto something, @mia_fox98, because it makes you question what you thought you knew.

Yeah, the_troy's point about it making old lessons feel real... I read an article about how these big sky events can actually change how kids feel about school subjects. It's not just a picture in a book anymore when you see it happen. That connection is pretty powerful. Makes the whole universe seem less like a bunch of facts to memorize. I guess that's why sharing something like your photo matters so much. It gives them a real place to start from.
