I finally figured out why my night sky photos were always blurry
For 6 months I blamed my cheap tripod for star trails showing up at 15 second exposures. Turns out I was leaving the vibration reduction on the lens the whole time. Friend pointed it out after I showed him my Andromeda shot and asked why the stars looked like little smears.

It's funny how we always blame the obvious suspect first when really it's the little things we set up ourselves. My buddy spent months thinking his car's alignment was shot when he just had a slightly low tire on one side and never checked. That's basically every problem in my life honestly, I overcomplicate everything before realizing I left something simple switched on or off.

Start calling that the "car alignment" effect in my house too. @hunt.jana, I swear I've spent an hour resetting my WiFi router before noticing the cable was just loose in the wall. It's like our brains skip the dumb stuff and jump straight to replacing the whole motherboard.
