I finally looked at my old astrophoto from the 2018 Perseids and saw a huge mistake...

I was showing a friend my picture of the meteor shower, the one I took with my old Canon T3i from my backyard in Boise, and he pointed out all the star trails from my shaky tripod. I'd been so focused on the meteors I never even noticed the blurry stars for three whole years. Has anyone else had a simple gear issue ruin an otherwise good shot?

My camera strap ruined a whole sunset once.

Ruined a whole sunset" is a bit dramatic, dont you think? That strap was probably hanging there for a split second. You could just crop it out in two seconds.

Sometimes those little flaws make the photo more real. It shows you were out there trying, not just making a perfect product. I'd take a shaky memory over a sterile shot any day.
