My photo of the Orion Nebula got 500 likes on a different site, which felt weird

I took a picture of M42 with my old 8-inch scope and a basic DSLR from my backyard in Tucson. I posted it to a big social media page just to share, and it blew up overnight. It got way more attention there than it ever did in the astronomy groups I'm actually in. I guess the algorithm just liked it. Has anyone else had a photo do way better outside of the usual astronomy spots?

Isn't that just the algorithm showing it to people who think space is neat but don't know good astrophotography?

Yeah, the algorithm just picks what's pretty.
