Shoutout to the guy at the Toledo star party who told me to stop fighting my dew
Last October I was at a star party near Toledo and this guy named Ray watched me wipe my corrector plate for the fifth time in an hour. He said my dew heater was cranked too high and making the problem worse, not better, and told me to drop it to about 40 percent power and let the glass stay slightly cool. Two weeks ago I finally tried it on a clear night here and shot 90 minutes of the Orion Nebula with zero fogging. So what power setting do you run your dew strap at, or do you just use a shield and skip the heat?
