Took a 30-minute exposure of the Milky Way and got airplane streaks anyway

I tried stacking 10 shorter exposures instead of one long one using DeepSkyStacker software. It killed the noise and let me erase those plane trails in Photoshop. Has anyone else ditched single long exposures for stacking?

Tbh I was doing single exposures for years and getting so frustrated with airplane trails ruining perfect shots. Just tried stacking last week with 8 frames at 4 minutes each and the difference is wild. Never going back to single long exposures.

@the_miles, what software or method did you use for aligning the frames before stacking?
