Took me 3 weekends to realize my gutter downspout was just 2 feet too short

Moved into a house off Boulevard back in March and noticed a muddy strip along the foundation every time it rained hard. Thought it was grading, thought it was the French drain, even paid $120 for a camera inspection. Plumbing guy found nothing. Finally after a third storm I walked out and watched the water dump out of the downspout and land right next to the slab. Extended it with a $9 flex hose from Home Depot and in 20 minutes the problem stopped. Has anyone else had a fix that simple hide behind a lot of overthinking?
