Bought a cheap ATV winch from a random brand on Amazon

I figured a $60 winch couldn't be that bad for light trail use on my 400. First time I actually needed it, the cable snapped after pulling maybe 10 feet in some mud. The whole thing just locked up and wouldn't spool back in either. Ended up having to flag down a guy with a come-along to get me out of a ditch near Meeks Bay. That was a long afternoon and I still had to buy a real Warn winch for $350 plus tax. Has anyone else had luck with those no-name winches or is it just me?

Yeah my buddy got one of those $60 Amazon winches and the remote stopped working the first time he tried it in the snow near Truckee. Ended up having to manually unspool the whole thing which took forever.
