Noticed a split in the ATV community over electric vs gas power, saw it firsthand last month at Mud Fest
I was at the big Mud Fest in El Paso last month and there was this clear divide forming. On one side you had the old school guys running their souped up 700cc gassers, claiming electric quads just dont have the grunt for deep mud holes. But then I saw this guy with a prototype e-ATV from a small shop in Arizona that pulled through a bog the gas ones got stuck in. He said he built the battery bank himself with salvaged cells, cost him around $4,500 total. I talked to both groups and they each had solid points about range and torque. But the e-ATV guy admitted his ride only lasts 45 minutes of hard play, then he is dead for 2 hours charging. So which side is more practical for actual riding, or is there a middle ground with hybrids nobody is trying?

Gotta push back a little on that one. Electric's been good to me, way more reliable than my last truck.
