Pro tip: the trail gate at Haspin Acres taught me to check my winch cable before every ride
Was out at Haspin Acres near Laurel, Indiana back in April and got stuck in that muddy bowl past the creek crossing. Went to pull cable and found 3 frayed strands near the hook that I'd been ignoring for who knows how long. A guy on a can-am named Dale helped me winch out and said he replaces his cable every 2 seasons no matter what. Now I do a quick hand check on the cable before I load up. Any of you running synthetic rope instead of steel, and does it hold up better in that clay mud?
