Rant: I swore I'd never put a winch on my Foreman, then a guy in Bend proved me wrong
Three years ago I was dead set against winches on utility quads. I figured they were for guys who got stuck on purpose, and my 2019 Foreman 500 never needed one. Then last month I was riding the Deschutes National Forest trails out of Bend with a buddy who runs a Warn on his Grizzly. He got high centered in a rut maybe 200 yards off the main trail, and instead of 40 minutes of digging and rocking, we had him out in about 90 seconds. I went home and ordered the same 2500 lb setup two days later. It's been on for three weeks now and I've already used it twice for fallen logs across the trail, not just for getting unstuck. So what winch size are you guys running on a 500 class quad, and do you trust the synthetic rope or still rock steel cable?
