Spent $450 on a skid plate and it already saved my engine once
Was all set to skip it since I only ride trails but caught a buried rock on the powerline cut last weekend that would've punched a hole in my case for sure. Anybody else have a mod they almost talked themselves out of that ended up paying for itself?

Idk, I feel like $450 could have bought a lot of replacement parts for an engine hit that might never happen.

Did you bend the skid plate or just scrape it? My buddy talked me out of getting handguards for like six months because "it's just branch slappers." Then I caught a tree on a narrow single track and sprained three fingers so bad I couldn't ride for two weeks. Handguards went on the next day and they've saved me at least a dozen times since. Sometimes you just gotta learn the hard way.
