Three miles up that same trail last fall, I snapped a tie rod on my Jeep and had to coast backwards down to the nearest pull-off. Spent four hours waiting for a buddy with a trailer while a family of bears watched me eat stale crackers. Nothing says "great outdoors" like being stranded and hoping your snacks don't attract more attention than you can handle.

Coasting backwards down a trail with a busted tie rod sounds like a skill, not a disaster. Bears watching you eat crackers? That's just free entertainment and a story that beats anything you'd get from a boring fire pit with marshmallows. Honestly, the whole point of off-roading is dealing with stuff like this. If you wanted guaranteed comfort you'd stay home with Netflix. Four hours of waiting builds character and gives you something to brag about later. The stale crackers probably kept the bears from getting too curious anyway.
