I keep seeing people use a heat gun on fresh clear coat way too early and it makes me cringe.

I watched a guy in our shop try to speed up the cure on a bumper by blasting it after only 20 minutes, and the finish ended up looking like orange peel soup, so what's the absolute minimum dry time you all wait before even thinking about applying heat?

Orange peel soup" is the perfect way to describe that mess. Everyone talks about time, but nobody mentions checking the shop's actual humidity that day, which changes everything. A dry 70 degrees is totally different from a damp 70.

My cheap digital hygrometer from the hardware store saved a whole batch last week. It's the only way to know for sure.
