My cheap paint gun cost me 3 hours of rework on a Benz yesterday
Over at my shop in Tampa I grabbed my backup HVLP gun on a hurry for an S-Class quarter panel. Turns out the needle seat was worn bad and laid down the worst orange peel I have seen in 15 years. Had to block it all down and reshoot with my Devilbiss gun. Anyone else trust their backup guns too fast and get burned like this?

Heard a guy say cheap tools cost you twice, sounds about right.

I read somewhere recently that a lot of the cheap tools these days are made with such thin metal they strip out after one or two uses. That guy's right, you end up buying the same thing twice anyway, just a nicer version later. It's like the old saying about buying a cheap pair of boots that fall apart in a year versus spending more on a pair that lasts a decade. The math doesn't work out in favor of the cheap stuff when you're having to replace it every few months.
