My shop in Tacoma swore by a certain brand of filler for years, but a 2018 Camry repair changed that.
We always used ProForm filler because it was cheap and sanded fast, but a job on a silver Camry showed terrible ghosting after three months. The customer came back furious, and we had to redo the whole quarter panel on our dime. What filler brands actually hold up long term without color issues?

ProForm works fine if you prep it right.

Yeah, "prep it right" is the key. My first time with ProForm, I skipped the manual and just started cranking. Ended up with a wobbly mess that sounded like a dying appliance. Took me an hour to undo it and actually follow the steps. Now it's solid, but I definitely earned that facepalm moment.

My uncle's body shop in Spokane had a similar wake-up call with a black Ford F-150. They used a different budget brand that looked perfect until the sun hit it six months later, and the repair spot looked like a weird shadow. @phoenixd97 is right that prep matters, but some fillers just seem to have a shelf life before they start talking back. After that, they switched to Evercoat for all their color-critical work and never had a comeback, even if it costs a bit more up front. It just doesn't fight you over time.
