Overheard a customer say panel gaps are 'good enough' and it bugged me

I was working on a 2022 Honda Civic last Tuesday when the owner walked by and said the front bumper gap looked fine. The gap was off by about 3 millimeters on the driver side compared to the passenger side. I told him I could tweak it but he insisted it was good enough. Do you guys let stuff like that slide or do you always push for factory spec?

honestly that's when i just nod and take the win while silently judging their life choices. 3mm is like... the gap between a good paint job and a quarter panel that catches light wrong forever. but hey, if they're happy with a crooked car who am i to force perfection on them? i'll be thinking about that gap every time i see a honda though.

Is it just me or does that same 3mm gap show up everywhere in life, like people who swear their "close enough" home electrical work is fine until something catches fire? @patricia_king23 you're right though, some folks just dont see the crack in the sidewalk til they trip.
