PSA: I tried wet sanding with 2000 grit on a black Silverado bumper and it went cloudy on me

Spent 2 hours on a repaint in the shop last week and it looked hazy under the lights, had to step back to 1500 then compound it out. Anybody else run into 2000 grit leaving haze on factory black, or is it just my cheap paper?
