Question about using a heat lamp versus just letting filler air dry in a cold shop

Tried a 500-watt lamp on a quarter panel last winter and it cured in under an hour, but the old 'let it sit' method took almost three days in the same 50-degree bay. Anyone have a better setup for low temps?

Switched to a couple of those cheap infrared space heaters on rolling stands. They warm the metal and the air around the filler without blasting one spot. Cuts cure time down to a couple hours in my chilly garage.

That point about warming the air around the filler is smart. It makes me wonder about the fumes though. If you're speeding up the cure in a closed garage, you might be cooking off solvents faster and building up more bad air. I'd be nervous without a serious fan moving air out, even more than usual. It's a trade off for sure, speed against ventilation.
