Serious question, had a customer three years ago in Spokane who insisted on a full quarter panel replacement for a dent I could have fixed with pulling and filler. He said it was the only 'right' way. I argued it was overkill and a waste of his money. Where do you draw the line on repairs versus replace?

Honestly, some people just want to watch the world burn and their bank accounts empty. Tbh, if a customer wants to pay for a whole new panel over a dent, I just shrug and take their money. Not my job to argue with a walking checkbook.

But what if it's not just about the money? A full replacement can mess with the car's factory corrosion protection and resale value. Sometimes the "right" way is the repair that keeps the most original metal intact. I've seen overzealous replacements cause way more long-term problems than a proper pull and fill ever would.
