The paint rep at the swap meet in Columbus got me to quit judging by the cap color
I used to pick reducer and hardener by whatever cap matched the label, because that is how I was taught in the shop. At a swap meet in Columbus back in April, a paint rep spent 20 minutes showing me how two cans with the same cap had different batch numbers and one was already going bad. He pulled a lid off a can he had opened in February and you could see the skin starting to form, and he said that is what happens when you store it by the color code and not the date. I went home and wrote the open date on every can with a paint marker, and I have not had a batch go gummy since. How are you all keeping track of your opened product?
