TIL that a $25 harbor freight paint gun can outshoot my $900 one

Picked up a cheap HVLP gun for a one-off fender job last week, figured I'd trash it after. The finish laid down so smooth I had to double check my paint ratio, and now I'm second guessing my whole setup. Anyone else found a budget tool that beats their pro gear on certain jobs?
