Whole day on a blend job, client still isn't happy

Mixed the paint three times. Now I'm redoing the whole thing.

My friend Mike had a car hood last summer where the pearl just would not lay right. He blended it three separate times over two days, and the customer kept pointing at the same spot in different light. He finally had to strip the whole quarter panel and start fresh from bare metal. Does the color look okay in the booth but change completely in the sun?

Ugh yeah metallic and pearl can be such a headache like that. My buddy had a similar thing happen with a metallic flake on a motorcycle tank. Looked totally even under his shop lights, but soon as they wheeled it into the sun it looked like two totally different shades of blue. He ended up having to re-spray the whole thing outside in direct sunlight to get it to match, which was a huge pain with dust and bugs lol. Just one of those things where the light source changes everything.

Yeah, it's the worst. @lindaw29 is right about the light changing everything. I had a silver tri-coat that looked perfect inside, then looked totally wrong the second they pulled it out.
