That microfiber towel sabotage on a ceramic coated car in Austin

I was doing a final wipe on a customer's black Audi in my driveway off Lamar Blvd last Saturday when I grabbed a towel from the bag I thought was clean, turned out it had a stray piece of dirt embedded in the nap. It left a spiral of fine scratches right on the passenger door over the coating, and my first instinct was to panic and hit it with a compound. I had to stop, do a full decon wash, and spend 2 hours polishing with a DA at low speed to lift them out, now I'm wondering how many of you actually inspect every towel by feel before touching paint, or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?

Felt that pain in my soul, I did the same thing on my own truck with a chamois that had picked up a pebble from the driveway, tiny little scratch right on the hood that I only saw in direct sunlight. Now I run every towel through my fingers twice, even the ones straight out of the wash, because that one time taught me more than any tutorial ever could. Honestly, microfiber is like a horror movie when you think about all the hidden stuff inside it, I half expect a spider to jump out sometimes.
