Customer swore his truck was haunted, turned out to be a $6 relay

Had a guy bring his F-150 into the shop last Tuesday, said the headlights would dim every time he hit the brakes. He was dead serious it was ghosts or a short in the wiring harness. I popped the hood and checked the basics first, like I always do, and noticed the relay for the brake light circuit was buzzing faintly. Pulled it out, the pins were corroded green, almost like they'd been sitting in salt water. Replaced it with a standard relay from my drawer, cost him six bucks plus labor, and the issue vanished on the test drive. He still looked at me like I'd performed a ritual, asked if I'd blessed the fuse box. My experience is that 80% of weird electrical gremlins come down to dirty connections or bad grounds, not some mystery fault. Anyone else got a story where a customer insisted on a wild diagnosis but it was something boring and cheap?
