I finally stopped slapping pads on every comeback brake job, and it was a shop foreman in Reno who set me straight
He asked me one question, 'did you measure the rotor or just feel it with your fingernail,' and I had been guessing for 6 months because it was faster. Now I mic every rotor before quoting anything, even when the customer swears it's just pads, and my comebacks dropped from 4 a month to zero since March. Any of you still eyeballing rotors or is that just a habit we all quietly keep?
