Can't relate, I could barely figure out the choke half the time. Sounds like you and @parker_hunt61 actually knew what you were doing.

Remember when you could just listen to an engine and know what was wrong? I miss being able to fix stuff with just a screwdriver and a good guess.

My dad’s old truck had a weird rattle I swore was the transmission. Listening close with him, it was just a loose heat shield on the exhaust. That experience taught me there’s real truth in that old-school diagnostic skill.
