Just realized I've replaced over 500 oxygen sensors in my 15 years at the shop
That's a crazy number of times I've had to explain to a customer that their check engine light isn't just a loose gas cap, and it makes me wonder what other part you guys see fail the most often?

Damn, a whole bin for ignition coils, that's wild. I mean I get it though, seems like every other car that rolls in with a misfire code its the same old story. It's like the parts are designed to give out right after the warranty ends, you know? Plastic cracking and electronics frying, it's just the way things are going now. Makes you wonder what the next weak link will be on these newer models.

Our shop has a whole bin just for failed ignition coils. We must go through a dozen a week, easy. It's always the same story with the rough idle and misfire codes.

That bin @fionarodriguez mentioned reminds me of my kitchen junk drawer. It's the same few things breaking over and over. The same plastic spatula handle cracks every year. The same brand of cheap light bulb in the hallway flickers out every few months. It feels like we're just constantly replacing the same weak parts in everything now, from cars to can openers.
