PSA: Coolant recycling bins are everywhere now, but no one's using them right

I've worked in a few different garages over the past five years, and lately, I keep seeing these big blue tanks for used coolant show up. It's cool that shops are trying to be more eco-friendly, I guess. But the problem is, there's hardly any info on how to do it properly. Last month, I walked into a bay and saw a guy dumping old transmission fluid into the coolant bin by mistake. That contaminates the whole batch, and then the recycling place won't take it. Now we have to pay to dispose of it as hazardous waste, which costs more. I mean, the intent is good, but if we don't get some simple signs or a quick talk from management, it's just making extra work. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like this green push needs a bit more thought behind it to actually help.
