Serious question, ever think you had a part figured out until a weird fix changes your mind?

I always used to replace the whole throttle body on those finicky 2012 Ford Focus models when they acted up. Then a guy in my shop, Mike, showed me how cleaning just the idle air control valve with some carb cleaner fixed the same rough idle issue for three cars last month. What's one small trick that saved you from a bigger, more expensive job?

My old boss at the tire shop swore by replacing the whole power steering rack on a certain Honda when it leaked. Took me a full Saturday to do one. Later found a forum post about a single, specific O-ring on the pressure line that always fails. Bought a 99 cent O-ring kit. Fixed the next four that came in with the same leak in under an hour each. Felt like I wasted so much time before that.

Which Honda model had that bad O-ring?

Wasn't it the 2000s Accord power steering line?
