The 2005 F-150 that took me 14 hours to find a 5 minute problem

I spent a whole Saturday chasing a no-start on a customer's truck, swapped the crank sensor, cam sensor, even the PCM relay. Turns out the ground wire for the PCM was corroded inside the insulation at a bend behind the battery tray, 14 hours for a 50 cent fix. Anyone else spent way too long on something that simple?

My personal record is 6 hours hunting a no-start on a Mustang only to find out the kid's girlfriend had unplugged the inertia switch as a joke.

Had this old Chevy van come in once, guy said it was running rough and dying on turns. I replaced plugs, wires, distributor cap, fuel filter, the whole nine yards. Three days I had that thing in my bay, chasing vacuum leaks and testing sensors. Turned out the guy had a six pack of soda under the passenger seat that had leaked, sticky syrup got into the fuel pump relay socket through the carpet. Cleaned it out with contact cleaner, fired right up. He brought me a pizza the next day as a joke.
