The Tuesday that every bolt came loose and nobody got hurt

Last Tuesday I had a F-150 come in with a bad lower ball joint. Got the castle nut off easy, which should have been a red flag. When I popped the joint loose, the whole spindle just fell. The nut was barely hand tight. Someone had worked on it before, left it loose. Customer had been driving like that for weeks. Scared me enough that I checked every safety-critical nut on the next five jobs. How often do you guys find loose suspension parts from previous repairs?

Why do people think torquing things to spec is optional? Glad nobody got hurt, that could have been bad.
