Transporter lost my key fob for 3 days after a move from Denver to Phoenix, and I can't decide if that's a fluke or a warning
So I had my Civic shipped from Denver to Phoenix last month, and the driver calls me from a truck stop outside Flagstaff saying he can't find the key fob. Turns out it slipped out of the envelope in his bag and sat in a cupholder by his coffee for 3 days. He found it, but I had to wait around a parking lot for 2 hours and pay a locksmith $85 just to get in. Now I'm stuck between two views: one, this is just bad luck and most drivers are fine. Two, if a guy can lose a fob that easy, what else is he misplacing, like paperwork or damage claims? I want to hear from people who've shipped cars before. Did you get a handoff checklist or just wing it and hope? And if you did get burned, did the company own up or push it back on you?
