I finally stopped guessing at oil changes and started using a drain pan with marks
For years I just dumped the old oil into whatever jug was handy and eyeballed it, which meant guessing how much to pour back in. Last Saturday in my garage in Boise I grabbed a $9 drain pan with quart marks printed on the side, and it took me about 10 seconds to see I was overfilling by almost half a quart each time. Do you all measure what comes out, or just go by the dipstick after?
