I think cleaning your MAF sensor with brake cleaner is actually fine

After swapping three dirty mass airflow sensors on my 2005 F-150 over 8 years, I finally tried brake cleaner on a cold Saturday and the truck ran smoother for 2 months before I sold it, has anyone else gotten away with this or am I just lucky?

Brake cleaner works but it can eat the plastic housing if you let it soak.
