My father-in-law swore I'd never get that 1965 Mustang engine running without rebuilding the carburetor first
I spent 8 hours rebuilding the carburetor last Saturday because he was dead right about the gummed up float valve, and now it purrs like a kitten, but has anyone else had one of those old Autolite 1100s leak from the throttle shaft after a rebuild?

My 1100 dripped from the throttle shaft too, I had to replace the whole shaft assembly to stop it.

Used to think a little shaft leak was no big deal, just a few drips after shutting it off. Changed my mind after it left a nice little puddle on my garage floor and started smelling like gas every time I walked in there. Got a bushing kit from the parts store and now it's bone dry.
