Can we talk about how torque seal made my life harder, not easier?
Everyone in my shop swears by torque seal on every single fastener, so I went all in on a landing gear retract check and marked every bolt on the left side only. Two weeks later I found a cracked bolt that had been marked, but the seal was still intact because the crack ran under the paint line and the head never moved. Problem is I almost signed it off as good, since the mark was whole. Now I use the seal as a backup and still put a wrench on anything that sees vibration. Anyone else find the stuff gives a false sense of security, or am I doing it wrong?
