Why does nobody warn you that a 3 foot wire run can eat your whole shift
Three weeks ago I spent 6 hours chasing a heading bug on a King Air 200 out of Addison, and the whole problem was one chafed wire behind the panel that looked fine until I wiggled it. I had already pulled the HSIs, swapped the KG 102, and re pinned two connectors before I found it. That is 6 hours of my life I do not get back because I trusted a visual check over a wiggle test. Now I do the wiggle test first, every single time, even on stuff that just came out of the avionics shop. Does anyone else have a go to first move that would have caught this in 10 minutes?
