Hit 250 miles on the PCT this summer and it totally changed my view on resupply points

I planned out every food drop months ahead like a military operation. By mile 180 I had way too much ramen and not enough protein bars. It forced me to ditch like 3 pounds of extra noodles at a hiker box near a ranger station. Anyone else find themselves overpacking food and then scrambling to adjust on the fly?

Yeah the whole "military operation" thing backfires hard. I just pack a standard 5 day food bag now and hit up grocery stores along the way, way less waste and stress.

Man I feel this so hard. I finally learned to just buy stuff at the last gas station or grocery store in town even if it costs a couple bucks more. Way easier than lugging around a bunch of stuff you end up hating.
