Honestly, I picked the longer route around Rae Lakes in the Sierras last summer and it was the right call.

That Rae Lakes loop is no joke, we did the 41-mile version over five days. The extra day to camp at Sixty Lake Basin was totally worth it, the views were insane (in a good way).
