I thought the High Sierra Trail was overrated until I saw the sunset at Hamilton Lakes

Did the trail last August and was kind of just going through the motions until that second day. We got to the lakes around 6 PM and the whole canyon just lit up orange. The way the light hit the granite walls and the water... I sat there for an hour and my whole view of the hike changed. Has anyone else had a spot on a trail that just flipped a switch for them?

Felt the same way until I saw a moose eat a whole fern, which was way funnier than it should've been lol.

What is it about big animals doing small plant things? Like seeing a deer nibble a single berry off a bush with such care, or a bear delicately picking blackberries one by one. It's that weird mix of power and gentleness that gets me every time. A moose just wrecking a whole fern is the perfect example of that vibe.
