I thought the 'Three Sisters Loop' in Oregon was overhyped until I went last fall.
Everyone talked about the views, but I was sure it was just another crowded trail. The colors in the meadows and the quiet side trail to Golden Lake totally changed my mind. Has anyone else found a spot on that route that surprised them?

You mentioned the quiet side trail, but honestly that whole area felt wrecked to me last fall. The main path was a total highway, and I saw trash by the camps at Golden Lake. The meadows were just brown and trampled, not some colorful postcard. It felt like the hype brought too many people who didn't care.

Ugh, that's so disappointing to hear. Was the trash left out in the open or was it stuff people tried to hide? It really bums me out when beautiful spots get loved to death like that. I had a similar feeling about a different lake last summer, where all the wildflowers were just stomped flat for photos. Makes you wonder if some places need a break from visitors for a while.
